Sinn Fein in Donegal says an analysis of budgetary figures which they obtained late last week shows that Letterkenny General Hospital has been systematically underfunded for many years.
Deputy Padraig Mac Lochlainn says that per 1000 inpatients, Letterkenny General Hospital receives the lowest budgetary allocation of any hospital in the state and the lowest allocation of hospital staff in the state.
At the root of this, Deputy Mac Lochlainn says, is the fact that Letterkenny has not been designated a regional hospital, a designation which would entitle it to a much fairer allocation and address the budgetary problems in the hospital at the moment………..
