New laws to be introduced for unaccompanied learner drivers

New laws are set to come into force which will see learner drivers who drive unaccompanied receiving penalty points.
They’ll also recieve penalty points if they are caught driving without ‘L’ plates when the new laws come in.
Currently if they drive alone without a qualified driver they receive a caution and a fine.
Susan Grey from the Road Safety Group PARC says this is not enough of a deterrent, and she says the new laws are much needed….
