Bishop Boyce announces clerical changes in Raphoe Diocese

The Bishop of Raphoe Dr Philip Boyce has confirmed a number of clerical appointments, to take effect at the end of next month.
Both Dungloe and Drumoghill will get new Parish Priests, but there’s further evidence of the extent to which the number of priests is falling with confirmation that Leitermacaward and Doochary will lose the curate who had been serving that area.
After 50 years service in the Diocese of Raphoe, Fr Seamus Meehan is retiring as Parish Priest in Dungloe. He’ll be replaced by Fr Aodhan Cannon, who leaves his current position as curate in Ardara.
Fr Martin Cunningham who has returned from study leave has been appointed Parish Priest in Drumoghill.
Fr John Joe Duffy leaves Aranmore Island to become curate in Stranorlar, replacing Fr Ciaran Harkin who has been granted a sabbatical.
The new curate on Arranmore will be Fr Francis Ferry, who leaves the parish of Conwal and Leck. He’ll be replaced in Letterkenny by Fr Eamon Mc Laughlin, who leaves his position as curate in Leitermacaward / Doochary. He will not be replaced, with that area being temporarily served by the remaining priests of the Dungloe parish.
