Over 2,000 Donegal students receiving Leaving Cert results today

55,815 people, the vast majority of them secondary school students, receive their Leaving Cert results today, just under 2,000 less than last year.

A total of 2,046 people sat the Leaving Cert exams in Donegal in June - that is around 10% less than last year.

Last year more females than males sat the exam with the same applying in 2012.

1,039 of Donegal students were female, and 1,007 were male.

A further 275 students sat the Leaving Cert Applied - that is an increase on the 148 that sat it last year.

Results will be available at schools from this morning and from midday, students who are not in a position to collect their results in person from their school can access them through the State Examination Commission’s Internet results service, or by telephone.
