New builds in Donegal down but planning applications are up

The National Housing Construction Index has shown the continued drop in construction activity in Donegal, but shows a marginal increase in Donegal Planning Applications.

The research shows that from January to June 2012, 615 planning applications were submitted in Donegal. This compared to 575 in 2011 resulting in a marginal increase of 2%.

Donegal was only one of three counties to experience an increase.

The same period saw a 23% drop in Commencement Notices issued in Donegal down from 169 to 130.
