Gardai are searching for two six-ft men who mugged a local on a cliff-top walk in Bundoran.
The victim, aged 20, was attacked in broad daylight as he patrolled a popular walk alone in the west end of the town.
Gardai said he was threatened, then viciously assaulted and forced to produce his wallet and robbed of nearly €200.
He received medical treatment locally.
Supt Leo McGinn said it was a cowardly attack at 3 pm on Wednesday afternoon, the first of its kind this year in the town.
The attackers were believed to be visitors to the town.
Gardai are searching for one man who had black hair and a brown hoodie. The other had light-brown hair and a black jacket.
Anybody with information is asked to contact the gardai at Ballyshannon 071 98 51102 or any garda station.
