Planning permission granted for new national school in Stranorlar

Planning permission has been granted for a new school building for St Mary's National School in Stranorlar.

The new school will be built on a site opposite the Finn Valley Centre, with over 500 pupils being catered for.

The new school was approved in 2010, but has lost its place because it wasn't ready to progress when the most recent Five Year plan was announced by Minister Ruari Quinn.

Local Cllr Patrick Mc Gowan says the site is now ready, and with support from government, building could commence within a year............
