New police team to investigate Michaela McAreavey murder

There’s to be a judicial enquiry in Mauritius to examine the Michaela McAreavey murder case, to determine what actions can be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice.
A new police team is also to be appointed to re-investigate the murder of the 27 year old teacher from Co. Tyrone on the island last January.
Last week, two hotel workers were cleared of the newlywed’s murder.
The Irish Ambassador to Mauritius, Brendan Mc Mahon, met with Prime Minister Ramgoolam and his Foreign Minister Arvin Boolell in the capital Port Louis yesterday.
Prime Minister Ramgoolam told Ambassador McMahon there will be a thorough police investigation and that anyone found to be involved would face prosecution.
