Outrage as Mauritian paper publishes “deeply insensitive” pictures

There’s outrage after a Sunday Newspaper in Mauritius today published images of the body of murder victim Michaela McAreavey, taken at the crime scene at the Legends Hotel.
Her family has described the publication as deeply insensitive, while the Taoiseach says the Government will be lodging a formal complaint with the Mauritian Government.
The 12 black and white images were published this morning in a newspaper in Mauritius called the Sunday Times.
On the front page there’s a photograph of Micharla McAreavey taken after her death – under the headline ‘Exclusive’.
Inside there’s more close-up pictures of her injuries.
It’s still unknown who took the photographs – or who gave them to the newspaper.
Irish Independent reporter Cormac McQuinn is in Mauritius and followed the trial into the murder of Michaela McAreavey.
