Family Resource Centres facing bigger workload with less funding – Report

The impact of the economic downturn has resulted in a significant increase in both the number and range of services that Family Resource Centres are delivering in communities.
That’s according to the 2011 annual report on the work of FRCs, which was launched today by Children’s Minister Frances Fitzgerald.
There are 106 Family Resource Centres located in disadvantaged areas throughout the country, nine of them in Donegal.
Mary Crossan is based at the centre serving St Johnston and Carrigans. Speaking to us from the launch in Dublin this afternoon, she said the centres are being hit with more work while having their funding cut……
