Concern as Donegal Circuit Court appeals to be heard in Castlebar

Circuit Court appeals for Donegal cases due to be heard in the High Court today have been moved to Castlebar, a decision which is being questioned by Senator Jimmy Harte.
He says he’s been contacted by legal representative and clients who cannot understand why they must travel to Castllebar to have their cases heard by a High Court judge, particularly as these are civil cases, and therefore no free legal aid is available.
Senator Harte says in one case, a 300 mile round trip is necessary, and he’ll be raising the issue in the Seanad tomorrow..
