Ulster Bank chiefs to be called to Oireachtas committee

The Dail has been told that representatives from Ulster Bank and the Central Bank should be called before an Oireachtas Committee to address questions arising from the technical glitch which has caused severe inconvenience for customers.
The issue was raised by Sinn Fein’s Finance Spokesperson Deputy Pearse Doherty. The Donegal South West TD says 150,000 customers are having problems accessing cash or making payments from their accounts.
He told the Dail that questions need to be answered…………..

The bank’s parent company – R.B.S. – is denying a technician in India caused the problem, and says the issue of payroll should be resolved by today, after getting assistance from A.I.B.
However, the bank says it’ll be next week before all other customer transactions are updated.
Responsing to Deputy Doherty, Minister Shane McEntee told the Dáil the issue has to be investigated sooner rather than later………………..
