John Mc Areavey interjects in court as defence opens its case

The widower of Michaela McAreavey was heard to mutter the word “lies” today as  a lawyer for one of the men on trial for her murder opened the case for the defence.
The trial of two local hotel workers – Avinash Treebhoowoon and Sandip Moneea – is now in its sixth week.
They’re accused of murdering the 27 year old Tyrone teacher at the legends Hotel in Mauritius while she was on honeymoon with her husband John last January.
Both men deny the charges.
