Letterkenny General Hospital implements emergency plan after bus crash

Over 40 people, most of them elderly, have been brought to Letterkenny General Hospital following a collision involving a bus and a car in South Donegal this afternoon.
The collision happened at 4.30 at Castleogry, Killybegs. There were almost 50 people on the bus, believed to be from Donegal and on a day trip.
There are no serious injuries reported, but the bus passengers have been brought to hospital as a precautionary measure.
As a result, Letterkenny General Hospital has this evening implemented its Major Incident Plan, and as a result, the hospital is extemely busy tonight.
The HSE are urging people not to go to the Emergency Department unless it is absolutely necessary. The NoW DOC service should, they say, be the first port of call.
