Ardara named as the best village in Ireland in which to live

Ardara has been named the best village in Ireland in which to live by the Irish Times. The paper is sponsoring the Best Place to Live in Ireland awards, and this morning named five category winners. The overall winner will be announced next Monday.

In the others categories, Westport was named best small town and Killarney best large town. Rathmines in Dublin was named best suburb, and Cork was named best city. Derry was also a contender for the Best City award, featuring on the longlist published last week.
Ardara was initially selected on foot of a letter written by local woman Jenny Mc Hugh.
Today, Ardara Parish Council Spokesperson Steven Mc Cahill paid tribute to her, saying she exemplifies the community spirit in Ardara……….
