Three units of the fire service brought a blaze at an apartment block at main street Dungloe under control last night (Saturday).
The fire broke out on the town’s main street on the second floor of the three storey building causing extensive internal damage.
The building is located adjacent to several commercial properties in the town but no other buildings were affected.
It houses several vacant apartments on the second and third floors and a disused commercial premises on the ground floor.
Gardaí confirmed that no one was injured.
It is understood that a man who was in the vicinity of the premises was taken into custody by Gardaí.
The area was sealed off last night by Gardaí and the premises will be forensically examined today Sunday.
