Soccer – Packie Bonner Looks Forward To Euro 2012

We’re just days away from Irelands kick off at Euro 2012 and for 19 players it’s the first time they will take part in a major tournament.
Shay Given, Robbie Keane, Damien Duff and Richard Dunne were all at the World Cup in 2002 although Dunne didn’t get any game time.
Former Ireland goalkeeper Packie Bonner says that, while he never had any trouble sleeping during major tournaments, he understands that some players will suffer with nerves.
Bonner played in 3 tournaments for Ireland, Euro 88 and the World Cups in 1990 and 1994.
Packie tells Oisin Langan how the sides he played in handled the nerves, and how he thinks Ireland’s tournament will pan out. Oisin begins by asking him about the importance of Shay Given who has been declared fit for the Croatia opener on Sunday.
