Two men remanded in custody over €1.6 million Laghey drugs haul

Two men have been further remanded in custody as gardai continue investigations into a €1.6 million haul of cannabis plants.
44-year-old Ming Sun and 34-year-old Xia Hua He, both Chinese nationals, appeared at Harristown District Court today following a remand at a special sitting of Sligo District Court last Saturday.
Today Judge John Coughlan remanded the pair in continued custody to Harristown Court next Friday, June 8.
The men were represented by solicitor Rory O’ Brien.
They are charged with possession, possession with intent to supply and cultivation of cannabis in a warehouse at Trummon, Laghey, Co. Donegal, on May 25.
Gardai from the National Drugs Squad and local officers discovered more than 2,000 cannabis plants estimated to be worth €1.6 million at street in a raid with a search warrant at Laghey.
