Sean Cavanagh has been ruled out of Tyrone’s Ulster Football Championship opener against Armagh.
Cavanagh is due to have a scan today (Tue) on the shoulder he damaged in a club game at the weekend. The latest injury is to a different shoulder to that which required surgery following a training accident last September.
On that occasion, the former Footballer of the Year suffered a detached tendon during a weights session in preparation for the International Rules series. There are fears that he may have suffered a repeat of that injury, this time to the right shoulder.
The results of the scan will determined the exact nature of the injury, the appropriate treatment and the projected duration of his recovery.
