Racing – Dream 1,000 Guineas Win For Harley

There was success for Letterkenny jockey Martin Harley as he claimed victory in the prestigious 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh on Sunday.
Harley claimed a comfortable win in the end, riding the Mick Channon-trained 12-1 shot Samitar to victory with a length and a half to spare.  Aidan O’Brien’s Homecoming Queen was favoured before the race, but faded late on allowing Harley to strike.
Since being named the 2011 Apprentice Jockey of the year, Harley has continued to improve and with this confident ride, things can only get better for the young Letterekenny man.
Martin spoke with Myles Gallagher on Sunday Sport moments after taking his biggest career victory.
