Two men still in custody following €1.6 million drug seizure near Laghey

Gardai seized an estimated €1.6 million worth of cannabis plants yesterday in a remote area of Donegal, believed to be one of the biggest ever in the county.
Gardai say the plants were seized during a planned operation in a large warehouse on an industrial estate at Trummon outside the village of Laghey.
As part of ongoing operation, Gardai from Ballyshannon assisted by the Garda National Drug Unit seized the at a warehouse in Laghey.
Initially, a street value of 500,000 euro was estamated, now, gardai are suggesting the value may be three times that.
A total of 2000 cannabis plants were seized, and two men, one of his 30s, the other in his 40s are being questioned at Ballyshannon Garda Station under Section 2 Criminal (Justice Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
South Donegal Garda Supt Leo McGinn has confirmed the operation was being prepared for a couple of weeks.
