Vandals slammed for destroying Garda Gary McLoughlainn’s memorial plaque

Vandals have been slammed for damaging a plaque left at the scene of a collision which resulted in the death of Garda Gary McLoughlain.

Superintendent Kevin English has said the Garda's family are devastated after the plaque was sprayed with paint and broken in half.

Half of the plaque was then placed on Garda McLoughlainn's girlfriend's brother's car.

Garda Gary McLoughlainn was seriously injured when the patrol car his was in collided with a car in Burt  being driven by Martin McDermott.

The garda later died from his injuries.
