Michaela trial hears claims of police brutality as admission statement is withdrawn

The trial of two men charged with murdering Michaela McAreavey in Mauritius has this morning heard claims that one of the two accussed, 30-year-old Avinash Treebhowoon, was the victim of police brutality.
He had made a statement admitting involvement in the killing of the 27 year old Tyrone native, but his legal team said this morning that statement was being withdrawn because he had been seriously assaulted by police.
