120,000 euro of funding confirmed for Gola Island Pier repair

Funding of 120,000 euro has been confirmed for Port a Chruinn Pier on Gola Island.
The Government has confirmed a grant of 90,000 euro towards towards repairs to the existing structure, including re-building the end of the pier and providing overlay of the existing deck.
Donegal County Council is providing 30,000 euro to the project.
The pier is seen as a strategic landing point for the southern side of Gola Island – it is hoped that work will commence on the project shortly and will completed by the end of the year.
