Road reopens as security alert continues in Derry’s Bogside

Police remain at the scene of a security alert in the Maureen Avenue area of Derry’s Bogside although the street has now been reopened to traffic.
Following a search operation last night, a suspicious object was found and a man, believed to be 30, was arrested on suspicion of dissident republican activity.
All residents have returned to their homes.
