GAA – McGuinness Pleased To Overcome Cavan

Donegal defeated Cavan 1-16 to 1-10 at Breffni Park on Sunday to advance to the next round of the Ulster Championship.
Despite an early scare from the hosts, a Colm Mc Fadden converted penalty in the first half provided the impetus from which Donegal marched to victory. In front of a crowd of over 12,000 McFadden would end the game as top scorer for the defending Ulster champions with 1-6.
After the game, Donegal manager Jim McGuiness said he was pleased with the win however said his team must become more ruthless and clinical if they are to get a result against Derry next month.


Donegal captain Rory Kavanagh was named man of the match in which was a memorable day for the St.Eunans man as he made his 100th appearance for the county and was named man of the match.
