Landowners urged to minimise risk of gorse fires

A public warning has been issued about the risk of gorse and forest fires in the North-West over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The Department of Agriculture says factors such as temperature, wind conditions and humidity are creating a high risk of fires in certain areas.
Land owners, farmers and forest managers are being reminded that it is illegal to burn growing vegetation on uncultivated land between the first of March and the end of August.
