Gortahork and Stranorlar school buildings not ready for opening

The government says it's not possible to confirm when work will begin on new buildings for Gortahork National School and St Mary's National School in Stranorlar.

The issue was raised on the adjournment in the Seanad last night by Senator Brian O'Domhnaill, who called for the two projects to be included in the government's 5 year Capital Programme because of the amount of preparatory work which has been done.

However, answering on behalf of the Education MInister Ruari Quinn, Arts and Gaeltacht Minister Jimmy Deenihan said neither project is ready to proceed........
