A priest has denied indecently assaulting a woman 20 years ago when he appeared at Derry Crown Court today.
Fr Eugene Boland, whose address was given on court papers as Parochial House, Killyclogher Road, Omagh, denied five charges of indecent assault alleged to have occurred between June 28, 1990 and June 30, 1992.
The 65-year-old, who appeared in the dock in his collar, replied "not guilty" as each of the charges were put to him.
Derry Crown Court heard the trial, which is expected to last one week, had been listed for next month.
However, defence counsel applied for the date to be vacated as there were a number of outstanding issues. They include medical and counselling notes about the alleged injured party.
He also revealed the defence require records from the Derry Diocese as it is believed the complainant was interviewed by them about the allegations.
A new trial date was fixed for June 18.
Boland was released on continuing bail and ordered to have no contact with any witnesses in the case.
