Council to discuss weight limits for forestry roads

Donegal County Council is to meet with Coillte to discuss imposing weight limits on forestry roads.

Cllr Martin Harley moved a motion calling for a  limit of 17 Tonnes to be imposed.

Officials suggested a blanket ban might not be appropriate, and said individual roads could be considered after consultation.

Cllr Harley says rather than imposing restrictions, the best outcome would be for common sense to prevail, and he believes this will happen:
