A statement has been issued this evening by Donegal County Council
responding to yesterday's An Taisce report which claimed the county
has the worst planning record in the country.
The statement, presented to the council a short time ago by County
Manager Seamus Neely concludes that the An Taisce report is a
distorted representation of the planning process in Donegal which
ignores its dominant rural character.
However, Cllr Frank Mc Brearty attempted to have the statement
stopped, saying he could not put his name to it, and he wanted a legal
opinion on its contents.
