An Taisce: Mahon like activity influenced Donegal planning

The former head of An Taisce says he is in no doubt that ‘Mahon Tribunal type activities’ were also going on in Donegal and has said councillors must take some blame for Donegal’s poor planning record.
The Mahon Tribunal was set up to investigate allegations of corrupt payments to politicians regarding political decisions mostly investigating planning permissions and land rezoning issues during the 1990s in Dublin.
Donegal is ranked as having the worst planning system in the country in a new report by An Taisce published yesterday.
Speaking on Shaun Doherty Show An Taisce Spokesman Charles Stanley Smith, a former chair of the group, said there is no doubt that Mahon type activities contributed to this:
