3% reduction in Live Register, but still over 21,000 signing on in Donegal

There were 21,051 people on the Live Register in Donegal at the end of March, 216 down on February and 660 down on March 2011. That’s a year on year fall of 3%.
The biggest year on year fall was registered in Killybegs, with 1,231 signing on, a fall of just over 9%.
There were 4,528 signng on in Inishowen, down 8%, while a fall of just over 2% was rcorded in Letterkenny with 5,902 on the register.
There were falls of just over 1% in Ballyshannon with 1,549, Donegal Town with 1,388 and Ballybofey with 2,660.
There were 1,612 signing on in Dunfanaghy, practically unchanged.
The only office to register an increase was Dungloe with 2,181 signing on, up 1% on March 2011.
