Irish Patients’ Association stresses importance of flu vaccine for care workers

The Irish Patients’ Association is urging all healthcare workers and visitors to nursing homes to ensure that they are vaccinated against the flu.
Speaking to Highland Radio News this afternoon, CEO Stephen Mc Mahon said there’s traditionally been a low uptake of vaccinations by health care workers, and this needs to be addressed.
Stephen Mc Mahon is also calling for a register of vaccinations so that in the event of an outbreak similar to that which has left six dead in Nazareth House in Donegal since March 22nd, information can be accessed quickly.
He wants this  form part of a comprehensive review…………
