TD and Priest tear up Household charge form in symbolic gesture

The people of Donegal said no to the household charge at the weekend as over a thousand people turned out for a ‘Cant Pay Wont Pay’ protest in Letterkenny.
Around 328 thousand people have registered to pay the 100 euro charge – but 80 percent of people still haven’t – just one week ahead of the final deadline.
In a symbolic gesture , hundreds of people in the crowd in Donegal ripped up household charge registration forms.
Addressing the crowd Gweedore priest Fr. Brian Ó Fearraigh spoke out on the austerity taxes facing the people of Co Donegal – and told them to resist pressure to pay:
