Over a thousand people turn out for ‘Cant Pay Wont Pay’ protest in Letterkenny

The people of Donegal said no to the household charge today as over a thousand people turned out for a 'Cant Pay Wont Pay' protest in Letterkenny.

Around 328 thousand people have registered to pay the 100 euro charge - but 80 percent of people still haven't - just one week ahead of the final deadline.

In a symbolic gesture today, hundreds of people in the crowd in Donegal ripped up household charge registration forms.

Addressing the crowd, Donegal South-West Deputy Thomas Pringle said they had now become a mass movement......
