A man has appeared in court charged with a punishment style attack in the Strabane two years ago.
42-year-old Kevin Murray, whose address was given as Albert Terrace, Lifford, is accused of grievous bodily harm on Ryan McColgan who was shot in both legs at Lisnafin Park, Strabane in April 2010.
The attack on Ryan McColgan in 2010 was subsequently claimed by vigilante group Republican Action Against Drugs.
Kevin Murray is also accused of having a gun with intent to endanger life.
He was arrested during a police swoop on a taxi he was travelling in close to Lifford on Monday evening.
There was a heavy police presence around the courthouse prior to Murray's appearance this morning.
Wearing tracksuit bottoms and a blue t-shirt, the defendant remained silent throughout his brief hearing.
Solicitor John McManus indicated that he would be making a bail application one week from today.
Murray was remanded in custody to appear again before Strabane Magistrate's Court on Thursday, March 22 by video link.
