Educate Together, Letterkenny to get new school building

Educate Together in Letterkenny is to get a new school, with construction to begin in 2015.
The school is one of three Donegal additions to the government’s Five Year programme. The other two new additions are extensions to Deele College in Raphoe and Little Angels in Letterkenny. Both of those are to begin in 2014.
Labour Senator Jimmy Harte says the money is ringfenced, and the works will begin on schedule…….

At present, the Educate Together school in Letterkenny caters for 165 pupils, and is based in a number of pre-fabs at Ballyraine.
Acting Principal Catherine Mc Hugh told Highland Radio News this morning that they are looking to identify a site and once that has been done, they will draw up plans for a new building.
Ms Mc Hugh says today’s announcement is long awaited…………

Three other schools in Letterkenny were already on the Five Year Plan. They are Gaelscoil Adhamanain, Colaiste Ailigh and St Patrick’s National School, Lurgybrack on the outskirts of the town. Work on all three sites is due to begin this year.
