A number of streets in Strabane were cordoned off today because of a security alert.
The police said they received a report of a suspicious object in the Butcher street area this morning.
Butcher Street and Barrack Street were closed and a number of properties had to be evacuated. Bowling Green Street and Market Street were also closed.
It is the second security alert in Strabane in two days.
Yesterday an alert in the Ballycolman area was declared an elaborate hoax.
