Vacant property owners warned as copper thieves strike in Letterkenny

Vacant property owners in Letterkenny are being urged to be mindful of the security of their apartments and houses in the town.

The warning comes after a lorry and a number of men were spotted at an apartment in Letterkenny last night.

It's understood the men were after the copper water tanks in the property.

They can be sold on for just €50, but the flood damage sometimes caused by their removal can cost the householder several hundred Euro.

Martin Hilforty, from Orbit Security witnessed last nights attack, he's warning owners of vacant properties in the town to be on the lookout.......
