IFA call for Local Improvement Scheme grants to be reinstated

The IFA is calling for Local Improvement Scheme grants to be reinstated.
The association is writing to Transport Minister Leo Varadkar telling him the scheme provides important support for rural roads that are now falling into disrepair. One suggestion, the IFA says, is to use money allocated for gritting and salting of rural roads, which were not required this winter.
Donegal IFA Chairman PJ Mc Monagle says unless money isn’t found to repair these country roads and laneways, then they will end up in a terrible state…..
