Arranmore priest says disadvantaged schools will still be hit in Donegal

A Donegal priest has said that yesterdays Government announcement to retain 235 teaching posts which were due to be axed from schools in disadvantaged areas around the country don’t go far enough.
While Fr John Joe Duffy has welcomed yesterdays announcement, he says Education Minister Ruari Quinn could have gone further to rectify the mistakes he previously made.
The Arranmore Island priest says the Government have tried to put their own positive spin on yesterdays news.
And Fr Duffy says the 3.5% capitation cut that primary schools will have to take is very serious…..
