Doherty tells Dail of confusion over new school transport rules

The transport crisis effecting schools in the Finn Valley has been raised in the Dail. The new transport scheme will only transport new pupils to their closest school.

For example a child currently attending Castlefin school and recieving free transport, could see a brother or sister enrolling for next term being told free transport is only availble to another school.

The public meeting on the issue will be held next Monday in the Castlefin Partnership Initiative office.

Speaking on the matter in the Dail, Deputy Pearse Doherty said the new rules are causing confusion and concern...........

The matter was dealt with on behalf of the government by Junior Minister with responsibility for education Sean Sherlock - He suggested Mr Doherty take it up with someone else............
