Castlederg PSNI station cannot close because of continued terrorist threat

A series of public meetings to discuss the potential closure of rural police stations in the North will begin in Beragh, County Tyrone, today.
Last December, it was revealed 40% of police stations in the North could shut in a PSNI cost-cutting plan.
That meant closing 34 out of 83 stations.
One of the stations under threat is Castlederg police station, which only sees one hundred people come through each year.
Member of the Policing Board and former Police Officer, Cllr Ross Hussey, says the station has to remain open as there is still a terrorist threat out there……
