Updated: Earthquake measuring 2.2 hits north Donegal

An earthquake measuring 2.2 on the Richter scale has struck north Donegal.
Many listener contacted Highland Radio this moring having experienced the small earthquake overnight.
Tremors was felt in areas including Kerrykeel/Fanad,  Downings, Letterkenny and Buncrana.
The British Geological Survey confirms that their equipment in Buncrana recorded a magnitude 2.2 earthquake at 1.04 this morning. The quake’s measured depth was 3km.
