Two due in Glasgow court in connection with Donegal man’s death

Two men are due to appear in court today in connection with the death of a 57-year-old Donegal man in Glasgow.
William McKeeney, originally from Malin Head, was attacked in Melville Street in the Pollokshields area at about 00:40 on Sunday.
He died from his injuries after being taken to the Victoria Infirmary.
Strathclyde Police have confirmed that two men, aged 19 and 20, have been arrested in connection with the death and are expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.
A report on the incident will be submitted to the Scottish equivalent of the DPP..
Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Andrew Bates thanked the community for its help with the inquiry.
He praised the people of Pollokshields for their assistance and support in helping officers take the investigation forward so quickly.
Mr Bates said he had no doubt that without the help, police would not have been able to make the arrests so swiftly.
He added that his officers will remain in the area working with elected members and the wider local community to provide public reassurance and ongoing support.
