Deputy Pringle slams new government Health Insurance Levy

There has been an angry reaction in Donegal to the government’s recent announcement of a 40% increase in the Health Insurance Levy.
Deputy Thomas Pringle says this will mean extra costs for customers with private health insurance despite the government saying that the companies should not pass it on.
Deputy Pringle says the 1.9 billion euro the public spend on private health insurance premiums annually may be better invested directly in the health services and not in the profits of private health insurers.
He says that as it stands, we are continuing to promote a two tier health system:
