The ESB is still working to restore power to around 6,000 homes this evening.
Severe winds and stormy conditions have resulted in fallen power lines – with counties Donegal, Sligo and Mayo the worst affected.
A number of roads remain blocked with fallen trees and debris – and motorists are advised to take to the roads with caution.
