7 Donegal Tax cases net Revenue Commisioner 1.7 million euro

Settlements in excess of 1.7 million euro were made in Donegal with the Revenue Revenue Commisioner in the last quarter.
The latest Tax Defaulters List shows the single biggest settlement in Donegal was with Pearse O’Neill, a grocer and newsagent from Ballyshannon – he paid almost 538 thousand euro for underdeclaration of Income Tax and a bogus Non-Resident Account Case
The second largest settlement was for just over 517 thousand euro by Thomas McLaughlin, a publican and engineer from Termon  – that figure included interest and penalties of 314 thousand euro.
P.A.T. Construction Limited, Letterkenny Road, Convoy made a settlement of almost 326 thousand euro for Underdeclaration of VAT and a Revenue Audit Case.
Paul McHugh, a wholesale grocer from Convoy settled with Revenue for 347 thousand euro.
There were a further three settlements for less that one hundred thousand euro – they were Text One Management Group, Carndonagh for 45 thousand, Patrick Gallagher a farmer from Donegal Town for 35 thousand euro and Neil Coyle a farmer from Aghilly in Buncrana for 66 thousand euro.
