Fanad United were last night celebrating their 14th Ulster Senior League title after beating Cockhill Celtic 1-0 in the play off at Bonagee yesterday. Fanad who last won the title four years ago, forced the play off after the previous weekend’s 3-2 win over the Cockhill boys in Inishowen. The games only goal was scored by Seamie Friel, a 40th minute header from a corner by man of the match Denis Boyle. Fanad’s victory brought an end to what was a fascinating title run in.
Fanad Manager Ollie Horgan spoke with Diarmaid Doherty after the game.
